A Journey to Self-Publishing: Part 4

“You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.”-Benjamin Mee

2017 was the year that I ventured out past my comfort zone. I told myself that I was going to give this writing thing everything I had, I was going to be brave and let people into my little literary world. Then, much to my surprise, I actually did it! I mustered up twenty seconds of insane courage and got started. I stuck with it, and I accomplished my goal for the year. I wrote and published my children’s book.

What did I learn from that adventure?

It was amazing! And exhausting, hectic, time consuming, scary. But it was amazing.  The great thing about this is that I’m still learning. I definitely muddled my way through publishing my first book. Now I am happy to say I am about to release my second book on Amazon. I think this go around has been much easier, but there is still so much to learn. Things to learn about marketing and branding. Just today I read about hosting online book release parties! I had no idea you could do that! I love that there is still so much to learn and that can be done. So my journey is far from over, I am happy to say there is still so much room to grow.
